The Laboratory of High Energy and Computational Physics (HEPC) at NICPB, Tallinn, invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in theoretical particle physics. The doctoral degree will be awarded by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech). The position has just become available, so we aim to fill it as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed on arrival, and an early start is strongly preferred. The position offers a competitive salary for the full duration of four academic years. The project focuses on BSM model building and phenomenology, addressing the flavour puzzle, neutrino masses and dark matter. This work will link new physics testable at colliders to phase-transition gravitational-wave signals at LISA and ET. The ideal candidate has a strong background in quantum field theory and an interest in BSM phenomenology.
The PhD will be supervised by Dr. Carlo Marzo, with co-supervision by Dr. Ville Vaskonen. HEPC has more than 20 members and is part of the CMS collaboration, the ET collaboration and the LISA consortium. Its research spans collider physics, dark matter, cosmology and gravitational-wave phenomenology. Funding is available for participation in international schools and conferences.
Requirements: A Master’s degree in Physics and fluency in English. Applicants should submit a CV, academic transcripts and at least one reference letter.
